How to play Waffle

The board holds six overlapping five-letter words — three across and three down. All the letters are already there, just in the wrong places. Swap two letters at a time to put every word right.

• Click or tap one letter, then another, to swap them.
• Green means the letter is in the right place — leave it alone.
• Yellow means the letter belongs in that word, but somewhere else.
• Grey means the letter belongs to the other direction.
• You have 5 swaps more than the puzzle strictly needs, so a few wasted moves are fine — but not many.

Tips

• Start with the corners. Each one sits in two words at once, so getting it right settles two clues.
• A grey letter in a row almost always belongs to the column that crosses it.
• Every swap fixes at most two letters — look for pairs that are each sitting in the other's square.
